April 26'
What we have been doing
April has been a bit of everything—in the best way. We’re in the design and planning phase on a few projects right now, which means: meetings with architects, dialing in renderings and elevations, material selections, trade coordination, scheduling and budgeting! We also got to celebrate a couple of weddings and go to Carmel-by-the-Sea and Truckee—which just happen to be two of our favorite places for home inspiration, so that made it extra fun.
What we have been loving
For the home-
This month, I have been thinking a lot about how much I love getting to have a front-row seat to how differently everyone wants to live in their home. We hear a lot of strong opinions—about layouts, functionality, and materials—that are deeply personal and unique to each homeowner. Online, there’s constant discourse around what’s right and what’s wrong, while at the same time everything can start to feel a bit the same. Our goal is to guide clients through that—filtering those preferences into something that feels both personal and considered. In every project, I am always looking for a sense of balance while holding onto a strong overall vision for a cohesive end result: balancing masculine with feminine, rustic with refined, serious with a bit of whimsy.
In the garden-
It’s been weirdly cold lately, which has put a lot on hold (my peppers are still living in the house), but it’s also been nice not to rush into the season. We’re enjoying lots of tulips, cilantro, lettuce, foxgloves and artichokes. I’ve been working through most of my direct seeding—edamame, corn, watermelon, cucumber, zucchini, cantaloupe, cosmos, and zinnias.
