February 25'

What we have been doing
Ok, if January felt like it was 49 days long, February was only 10. We were heads-down with deadlines, meetings. We attended our first NARI event and got to meet a lot of great local industry people. We got to escape the cold for a bit and went to Cabo to for my bestie’s wedding. We were sad to return to reality but I also couldn't wait to come back and check on my seedlings. We quickly turned around and headed up to Truckee to check on some last minute details before breaking ground on a design project I’ve been working on for the past couple months.

What we have been loving
For the home- As usual, I’m super into House & Garden and love to be inspired by all the colorful, highly decorated British homes. This has led me to fall in love with the charm of a painted cabinet- especially in a yellow. I dont think anyone would be surprised to hear me say I am typically drawn to more neautral earthy tones, but lately, I’ve been gravitating toward more color. I still love a muted palette, but I’ve been having so much fun channeling my inner House & Garden and incorporating bolder contrasting hues into a project!
In the kitchen- If we’ve talked in the last month, I’m sorry if I yapped your ear off about starting my canning journey this year. But after having such a large garden harvest over the summer, I am really missing having homegrown food this winter! I’m excited to try my hand at a few recipes to enjoy throughout the year and make my pantry feel like an upscale grocery store. But until that, I have been loving making my own pizza dough.
In the garden- Currently planting lots of seeds and picking a lot of weeds. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with the idea of growing the tallest sunflower of all time, so I just bought some Skyscraper sunflower seeds—and my expectations for their growth are probably way too high (literally and figuratively). In the process, I’ve fallen down a rabbit hole of niche seed websites and am excited to try growing some unique dahlia varieties.
