February 26'
What we have been doing
February has brought some big changes and challenges — all of which we’re excited to share more about soon. It’s been a month full of mood boards, finish selections, pricing, and contracts. We’ve spent a lot of time at home, running around for clients, with a quick trip to New Orleans to celebrate a friend mixed in.
What we have been loving
For the home- Spring always brings out my love for everything light, airy, and feminine. I’ve been especially drawn to traditional millwork profiles lately — especially in a tile detail. It adds such a historic and intentional feeling. I’ve been having so much fun selecting wallpaper for a few different clients and leaning into pattern mixing for inspiration. And as always, I’m loving a cedar roof. We’ve been making some exterior finish selections, and I keep finding myself gravitating toward every house that includes cedar. It adds so much warmth and charm — it feels so organic and timeless.
In the kitchen-
We’ve had such a mix of weather lately — super cold and rainy one week, sunny and warm the next — so our meals have been a little all over the place too. Cozy soups one and simple bbq meals. I think I’m at that point in the season where I’m craving a shift. I’m so ready for the first real signs of spring and the new recipes that always seem to come with it. I am excited to try making Arugula pesto with our abundance our homegrown arugula and these Sundried Tomato Grilled Chicken Skewers.
We’re officially antsy to dive into full garden mode. I have plenty of seedlings started and am trying not to overextend myself this year. For now, we’ve been focused on pruning, weed prevention, spreading mulch, and planning since we aim to plant in early April. The tulips are just starting to push through and the daffodils are blooming — such a fun little preview of spring. I told myself I wasn’t buying any more seeds… but I couldn’t resist one last small order. Hot take: I’m not usually a zinnia person (even though they thrive here), but I figured I would give them another shot with some new varietals and am trying a Zinderella varietal.
