March 25'

What we have been doing
March felt quiet in the grand scheme of things, but looking back, a lot actually happened! We spent time at home prepping for spring, making progress on personal house projects, and taking a few quick trips—helping Shane’s sister move, meeting with a repeat client about a new project, and fitting in some fun—me at Color Me Mine and Shane skiing (if this doesn't sum us up idk what does).
On the work front, we’ve been gearing up for a new build set to break ground in May and continuing to make progress on the Truckee cabin design project.

What we have been loving
It is always fun for me to see how my mood boards transition season to season and I am reminded of what is so great about the the current season. As evidenced by the mood boards- everything is so green right now and spring is definitely in the air.The days are getting longer, making way for more time outside and the return of al fresco dining. There’s just something about a new season that always makes it feel like my favorite.
For the home- I’m obsessed with transom windows—the image in my mood board is a permanent fixture on my Pinterest for the past couple months. Lately, I’m also loving the casual charm of slipcovered chairs and the soft, cozy feel of fabric lamps.
In the kitchen- I accidentally binged Ina Garten's memoir audiobook this month—and I loved hearing her story. I’ve always been aware of her—especially since I was a Food Network-obsessed child—but I never knew her origin story, how she got there, or who the heck Barefoot Contessa is. (I heard on a podcast recently that someone thought her name was Barefoot Contessa and the show was called In the Garden and honestly, same.) After hearing about her recipes, I couldn’t resist trying two of her most famous ones—brownies and her famous roast chicken.
In the garden- What isn’t happening right now? It’s peak garden prep time, with our average last frost falling between April 1–11. Shane has been working on finishing up the last two garden beds and obsessing over the lawn, while I’m mapping out bed layouts, tending to my ever-growing collection of seedlings, and waking up the dahlia bulbs. We’re also making endless compost runs and adding more landscaping plants.
