November 25'
What we have been doing
November was all about the final push — wrapping up projects before the holidays and juggling installs. And somehow, between it all, we managed to sneak in some fun weekends: a Park City trip with friends, a quick Sonoma wine tasting day, and an early visit to Apple Hill to pick out our Christmas tree. We ended the month in the Bay for Thanksgiving — lots of family, good food, and a chance to slow down before the holiday rush.
What we have been loving
For the home- We’re deep in a long-planned kitchen project, and finalizing where to add plaster has been a fun design conversation. The space feels clean and new, so I can’t wait to bring in the soft texture and imperfect charm that plaster always adds.
This time of year has me craving all the cozy details too — creamy whites, soft fabrics, and all the subtle layers that make a space feel homey It’s very much our classic mix: refined but natural, a little traditional, a little modern, and full of texture and warmth.
In the kitchen- It’s been so cold here lately, which basically means I keep accidentally making soup for every meal. Post-Thanksgiving, we’ve been craving something a little lighter but still cozy, and my go-to is a simple chicken veggie soup. It doesn’t really have a recipe — just a rotisserie chicken/chicken stock and whatever veggies you have in the fridge (onion, cabbage, carrots, celery, broccoli, kale… anything goes).
I’ve also started collecting a few new holiday baking recipes. I have my tried-and-trues, but I’m excited to test out a few new ones this season, like this vanilla tart and these peppermint black and white cookies.
In the garden- Thanksgiving weekend kicked off the wreath-making — we foraged for greenery and made a few classic ones to start. I have a ton of saved dried florals I’m excited to dig into for another wreath. We’re still cleaning up our summer garden and I am excited for a clean slate as we look forward and are starting to plan next year's garden.
